Dec 26, 2016 · I note you say spare key only worked for locking. if I remember correctly any key of that shape can be used for locking. when locking it does not check the individual cuts on the key in any way. I had a Mk4 Escort (in UK) which had same type of keys and locks which were all causing problems.

Over the past 2 weeks the flip out key has been getting less and less effective, it started with not getting all the way out, or not being able to close it past halfway, but now it doesn't do anything at all when the button is pressed and I have to physically flip it out myself.
